The 16th “Super Globe 2023” competitions will resume tomorrow morning, Saturday, November 11, 2023 with Semi-final matches of the tournament and position matches. The Kingdom is hosting for the fourth time in a row at the Ministry of Sport Hall in Dammam from 07 to 12 November 2023.
The semi-final matches will begin at 5:30 pm, with the Spanish team Barcelona playing against the German team Fuchse Berlin in the first match, while the “defending champion” Magdeburg of Germany will face the Polish Kielce at 8:15 pm in the second match, to determine the two sides of the final.
In the placement round, the “host” Al-Khaleej will face its Bahraini Al-Najma, at 3:15 p.m., and Kuwait SC will play with the Egyptian Al-Ahly at 1:15 p.m. The winners of these two matches will play the match to determine the fifth and sixth positions, while the two losers will meet to compete for seventh and eighth places.
Al-Noor, will meet the Argentinian team, San Fernando, at 9:15 am, while the Australian Queensland team will face the American team, Cal Heat, at 11:15 pm. The two winners will meet on the last day to determine the ninth and tenth places. The two losers play a match to determine eleventh and twelfth places.
“Know your numbers” in the health corner
The number of visitors to the health event held in the outer courtyard of the hall under the slogan “Diabetes: Know its risks, know your responsibilities” in cooperation with the Qatif Health Network, in sync with World Diabetes Day, reached more than 550 visitors. There are a number of consultant doctors and medical staff in various specialties in the health corners, with the aim of providing examination services and educating sports fans about the importance of knowing and following up on the most important vital indicators that affect an individual’s health, including measuring sugar levels, blood pressure, and body mass, in addition to providing seasonal influenza vaccinations. This event continues until the last days of the tournament.
Fan Zone
The events accompanying the tournament, which are held in the Fan Zone in the outer courtyard of the Ministry of Sport Hall in Dammam, attracted large numbers of fans who attended the matches. The events included entertainment and singing games and competitions related to handball, in addition to food trucks and mobile cafes. A giant screen is also available in the village. It allows fans to follow matches live outdoors.
Exchange of souvenirs
This Friday morning, the organizing committee of the tournament held a special ceremony for the participating delegations in the presence of the President of the International Federation, Dr. Hassan Moustafa, the President of the Arab and Saudi Handball Federations, Mr. Fadel bin Ali Al-Nemr, and heads of delegations. During the ceremony, shields and souvenirs were exchanged.
