The European teams Kielce of Poland, Füchse Berlin and Magdeburg of Germany, and Barcelona of Spain qualified for the semi-finals of the “Super Globe 2023”, held at the Ministry of Sport Hall in Dammam, after topping the four groups at the end of the group stages.
On the third day, Polish Kielce defeated American CalHeat (49–23) to lead Group Four. Meanwhile, German team Füchse Berlin, the leaders of Group Two, defeated Kuwait SC (37–28) for their second victory. In the third group, German team Magdeburg defeated Australia's Queensland (57–14) to have the tournament's highest result. In the first group competition, Barcelona defeated Egyptian Al Ahly (37–26) to complete the qualifying teams.
The semi-final matches will be on Saturday, November 11, 2023, as Barcelona will meet Fuchse Berlin of Germany at 5:30 pm, while the other German team Magdeburg will meet Kielce at 8:15 pm.
Al-Khaleej will play the Bahraini Al-Najma at 3:15 pm, and the Egyptian team Al-Ahly will play the Kuwait SC at 1:15 pm. The two winners will meet to determine the fifth and sixth places, while the two losers will play to determine the and seventh and ninth.
Al Noor will play San Fernando of Argentina, at 9:15 a.m., and the Australian Queensland will play the American CalHeat at 11:15 a.m. The two winners will meet to determine the ninth and tenth places, and the two losers will meet to determine the eleventh and twelfth.
Saudi Arabian Handball Federation Meets with Spanish Counterpart
To discuss the possibility of signing a memorandum of agreement in the future, the Saudi and Spanish Handball Federations had a preliminary discussion this evening, Thursday, in the Ministry of Sport Hall in Dammam. The Saudi side was represented by the President of the Saudi Arabian Handball Federation, Mr. Fadel Al-Nemr, while the Spanish side was represented by Spanish Handball Federation President Dr. Francisco Garcia, in the presence of the President of the International Handball Federation, Dr. Hassan Moustafa, and members of the Saudi Football Federation. At the end of the meeting, the two parties exchanged souvenirs on this occasion.
